I continue to make time each month for TAB (after 10 years) because it forces me to view my company and my role in the company from a different perspective.  It is a time for me to work "on the company rather than in the company".  I strive to be a lifetime learner and I rarely fail to learn from my fellow TAB members.  Sometimes there are specific ideas to try but I find the constant synergy of positive attitudes is the best part of my TAB participation.

Sometimes I feel that I just don't have the stripes to sit with the people in my Board. Then we'll discuss something where I've already conquered the problem and the others haven't yet. Then I see why we each can contribute.

I'm a second generation  TAB member. My mother, who founded our company, was a TAB member before me.

I do my best thinking when I interact with someone. The questions and feedback from people who understand the challenges of running a business are what I need to work through my issues.
