My TAB meeting is critical to me. Each month I look at my business plan, and determine the next thing I want to implement. Then I take it to my TAB Board and let them figure out how I should do it.

I enjoy the unique characteristics of my Board members. Their differences come out in the meeting. We have a rich diversity in what we do, how we do it and where we are in our business lives.

John Hutcherson, Owner, Ameriprise Financal Services, Inc.

I find that listening to other members' issues gives me more ideas on how to handle my own. Whenyou live in a cave, you only hear your own echo.

David Granato, President STARS (document services)

I received TAB materials for a long time, but felt a "business group" didn't make sense for a creative company. I noticed a competitor had joined TAB, but didn't think much of it. A few years later they had opened a new office, and grown a lot. I began to wonder what TAB had done for them, and my wife encouraged me to find out. What I've learned is that my business, creative or not, is still a busness. I'm totally thrilled.

John Tafolla, President, Rio Design

There are two things that never cease to amaze me: 1) Even businesses from vastly different industries seem to have about 90% of the same issues to deal with on a regular basis. 2) The creativity and innovation that can come from learning how things are handled differently in different industries and then applying it to your own situation is unbelievable - it goes way beyond what you can learn from the wisest, oldest sage in your same industry

"The best thing from my Board meeting every month is 'the surprise.' We are all accustomed to making the tough decisions, and I expect help with those. It's the thing I wasn't thinking about, the solution to a problem I didn't know I had, that really makes the commitment to attend worthwhile."

Rusty McFarlin, Vice President, Klecka Electric Co.
